Companies and Artists Unite during the Holiday Season to Raise Funds for Orphans
Australian cross-country runner Steven Marlborough now living in initiated Running for Life, a mountain running fundraiser, to raise 18,000 USD to help the Children of Chornobyl Relief and Development Fund (CCRDF) buy an urgently needed respirator unit for the Volyn Regional Children’s MedicalHospital.

Two Ukrainian figure skating champions will perform at The NJ Devils Alumni vs. NY Ukrainian Kozaks hockey fundraiser game, presented by The Children of Chornobyl Relief and Development Fund in conjunction with the Ukrainian American Cultural Center of NJ, scheduled for Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Richard J. Codey Arena in West Orange, NJ. The fun begins with an open skate for all ticket holders at 12:30 p.m.
Between December 1, 2009 and January 27, 2010, employees of seven Ukrainian and foreign companies participated in CCRDF’s Artistic Christmas Tree (ACT) holiday initiative to raise funds for orphans. The companies included: Salans, Euroholod, EurAsia Consult, Microsoft, Perry Construction, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Shell. In addition to funds collected, the companies’ employees participated by donating puzzles, beads, diapers, sewing materials, and educational toys for the 200 orphans from the Zhytomyr and Kirovohrad regions in Ukraine.
In total 54,500 UAH was raised by the ACT fundraiser and will be used to pay for additional caregivers and rehabilitative equipment for the Puhachiv Orphanage and the Znamyanka Orphanage.
